Center for Life Management Employees Help Our Troops in Iraq During this time of year with celebrations for Memorial Day, Mother’s and Father’s Day, it is an especially difficult time for families who have loved ones away from home serving in the military. One of those proud parents is Carol Drouin, a nurse practitioner on staff at the Center for Life Management whose son, Army Captain Derek Drouin, is serving as a troop commander in Rishidia, Iraq. Staff at CLM wanted to do something to help when they learned that Captain Drouin and the troops were helping to organize a soccer league for children and teens in the Iraq community, but were in desperate need of supplies. ![]() Getting the soccer supplies ready to ship to our troops serving with Captain Derek Drouin in Rishidia, Iraq are staff of the Center for Life Management (from left to right): Joyce Santos, Lisa Madden, Lynda Silegy and Carol Drouin, mother of Captain Derek Drouin. The much needed supplies will be used for a youth soccer league Captain Drouin has organized in the Iraq community where he is stationed. “Our employees really got behind the idea of a drive to raise funds for supplies including soccer balls, socks, practice jerseys and other items. It was a way we could provide support to one of our own and help the troops. Plus, what Captain Drouin was trying to do in helping the kids and teens over in Iraq was just so consistent with our mission here at CLM, it was just a perfect cause for our team to support,” notes Lisa Madden, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer who oversees clinical programs at CLM. The drive was spearheaded and coordinated by Executive Assistants Joyce Santos and Lynda Silegy who worked tirelessly to make the effort such a success. This week, employees at CLM packed up the shipment of supplies which should arrive in Iraq in about a week’s time. The drive netted a total of 84 soccer balls, 63 pairs of athletic socks, 133 practice jerseys and other needed supplies including mechanical pencils and hard candy to treat the kids. To give the troops some much needed diversions for recreational time, 7 footballs and 6 basketballs were thrown in as well. Brownie Troop Makes Donation to Center for Life Management True to their Girl Scout promise to help people at all times, Brownie Troop 12704 of Derry recently donated food and baby food items to the Center for Life Management. CLM will distribute the items to families they serve that are in need. According to the Troop Leaders, the girls saved up their dues in order to purchase the items and helped with the shopping. At a recent troop meeting at the Marion Gerrish Community Center in Derry the Brownies presented their donation. ![]() Pictured from left to right are: (Front Row) Veronica Kight, Rebecca Parker, MacKenzie Richards, Jeanine Stewart, Kate Ganley, Megan Daniels, (Second Row) Julia Fallisi, Olivia Buchanan, Emily Danforth, (Back Row) Louise Morin-Davy, CLM Children’s Program Director, Dianne Cardinal, CLM Clinical Supervisor, and Troop Leaders Leslie Fallisi and Kristen Ganley. | ||||||||||
